Roosevelt Island Yogi

Hi there,

This is Tugce (pronounced as 2Che; also known as Tutu)

I am a scientific lecturer in Columbia University and a yoga instructor, certified by a 250 hours training program in London, called Fierce Grace that combines many different yoga styles including, bikram, hatha, ashtanga, rocket and even hiit workouts. Following my training, I taught hot yoga classes in Fierce Grace New York Studio.

Over the summer, I started teaching a free weekly outdoor yoga class and we made into a lovely community!

Now, we continue with indoor classes in the beautiful studio of the Main Street Theater. Click here for directionsthere is even a video. No registration needed, though it will be nice to contact me initially so that I add you to the circling texts. The classes will be on Saturdays at 1:30 pm (from September 28th through December 21st except for the Thanks giving weekend). Mats, blocks, straps are available.

For me very important is to make yoga available for everyone with modifications, blocks, straps etc, but also with clear instructions, hands-on adjustments and an approachable teaching style. Inclusive teaching and outreach are topics dear to my heart not only in science but also in yoga. Classes are unfortunately not free – they cost $5 to cover the expenses of the studio rental. But feel free to let me know, if you need free classes. Your participation is the most important to me.

Before moving to New York this year, I was giving yoga classes in the university and organized a few beer yoga events. You can check out my video for my successful crowdfunding called  ‘Yoga knows no disability’ to sponsor my yoga training.  I am always open to projects that will promote ‘Yoga for Every Body’.
